Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a fluid mechnical technique that uses computational power to solve and analyise a wide range of problems involving fluid flow (gases or liquids) and fluid-structure interaction.

Simulating the behaviour of water and air in a marine environment is an important aspect of boat design. At Dynamic Fluid Design we have experience simulating a range of maritime flow problems including sailing yacht hulls, traditiional flexible sails, modern wing sails and fast planing power boats.

Areas of Marine Application:

Dynamic Fluid Design also has experience simulating a range of non-maritime problems such as aerodynamic flow around racing and road cars and trucks. CFD can also be used for heatflow calculations and turbomachinary simulations.
